In an Urgent Question in the House of Commons today, Shadow Home
Secretary Diane Abbott claimed she had been misled by the Home
Office, G4S and Serco about a hunger strike at Yarl's Wood.
She and the Shadow Attorney General had been to the detention
centre to inspect the conditions there. The visit coincided with a
hunger strike by some detainees in protest at the “inhumane
conditions.” But she had been told categorically there was no
