£1.1m investment a huge boost to sport in South Belfast

Sinn Féin Belfast City Councillor Deirdre Hargey has welcomed the investment of £1.1m for a new floodlight 3rd generation pitch at the Ulidia playing fields on the Ormeau Road.

Speaking at Full council Cllr Hargey said:

“This is a huge boost to sport in South Belfast. Belfast city Council have agreed to bring forward a £1.1m development of a 3G floodlit pitch at the Ulidia playing fields.

“This is excellent news for local team Rosario FC who use this pitch as their home ground. The club have been doing fantastic work and this is clearly recognised in this investment,

“I was happy to support and lobby for this investment having worked closely with Rosario for a number of years now and I look forward to developing that relationship as we move forward with this investment package.”
