During PMQs, Labour MP Jack Dromey (Birmingham, Erdington) asked
about GKN. He asked the PM if the proposed takeover of GKN, a
"worl-class" company, by Melrose which would lead to the "break-up,
sell-off and redundancies" would make a mockery of the Government's
industrial strategy. He further said that "the Government has the
power to intervene because of the defence work carried out by GKN,
and will she act in the national interest and block this unwanted
