Anderson condemns Palestinian aid remarks

Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has said the international community has a responsibility to support the people of Palestine.

Martina Anderson said:

"The recent comments from US President Donald Trump in relation to aid to the people of Palestine are deplorable.

"His remarks also totally ignore the fact that the US give billions of dollars in so-called aid to Israel, which in reality amounts to military aid.

"This allows the Israelis to carry out human rights abuses and breaches of international law against the Palestinian people.

"The international community, including the US, should be confronting Israel on these abuses and should be standing in solidarity with the people of Palestine."
