Brief mention of G4S at Justice Committee hearing

David Green CB QC, Director of the Serious Fraud Office, today gave evidence to the Justice Select Committee. 

David Hanson MP asked for an update on the case against G4S and Serco.

David Green said: “I know this will be frustrating for you, but the investigation does continue. Secondly, we are investigating conduct quite different from that originally referred to us. Thirdly, I anticipate developments over the next few months.”

Mr Hanson pointed out that those were exactly the words used when Mr Green appeared before the committee 13 months ago. Mr Green hoped there might be a decision before he leaves the SFO (on 20 April 2018), but there was a huge amount of documentation in that case. It was a classic case of getting disclosure sorted before charging.
