Joint Committee on Human Rights takes evidence from lawyers on free speech in universities

Wednesday 6^th December, Committee Room 1, Palace of Westminster 4.15pm

This week the inquiry into free speech in universities looks more closely at the law. Issues likely to be covered include:

Boundaries between unlawful speech and speech protected by Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights: are they clear?

Can the Prevent duty, which universities have a duty to act on, be made clearer in legal terms for universities without reducing its effectiveness?

MPs and Lords from The Joint Committee on Human Rights will be putting these questions amongst others to a panel of legal experts:
