European Parliament: What future for Erasmus+ programme?

“Now that the anniversary celebrations are over, we must focus on improving the successor programme to continue Erasmus+ as the most citizen-oriented success story of EU integration. To achieve that, Erasmus+ needs to be more inclusive, simplified and better resourced. That is why we will aim to increase the Erasmus budget and thus invest more in the personal and professional development of young people in Europe!” said Petra Kammerevert, (S&D, DE), Chair of the Culture and Education Committee.

This event marks the end of a series of activities organised jointly by the European Parliament and the European Commission to celebrate 30 years of the Eramus+ programme.

The anniversary campaign was launched in Strasbourg in June earlier this year and it will end on Thursday evening with a debate with representatives of all Eramsus generations on the future of this programme beyond 2020.
