The Education Committee is to hold its first oral evidence
session as part of its inquiry into the provision of education for
young people who do not attend mainstream schools. The inquiry
fits in with the Committee’s aims of promoting social justice by
looking at ways of improving educational outcomes and life
chances. Alternative Provision is provided in settings
such as Pupil Referral Units and educates pupils who are
