Lord Morris of Handsworth (Lab):...Some problems—such as the six-week wait for benefit—were known about four years ago. The majority of in-work claimants get paid weekly and those on zero-hours contracts and in other forms of the Gig economy have no certainty over when they will be paid. Not surprisingly, few have money in the bank to finance delays.
