ATL comment ahead of the GCSE results

Dr Mary Bousted, general secretary of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL), said: “The Government’s calamitous, rushed through reforms to the exams system have put extreme pressure on pupils taking their GCSEs this year.
