Lords defence industry inquiry hears from SMEs and start-ups

The House of Lords Industry and Regulators Committee continues its inquiry into the relationship between the Government and the defence industry on Tuesday 23 June 2026 by hearing from SMEs and start-up companies.

  
The session will begin at 11am and can be followed live or afterwards on Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 1, Palace of Westminster.

Giving evidence will be:

• Graham Booth,
  CEO, 2iC;

• Jon Parker,
  CEO and Founder, Flyby Technology;

• Tom Redman,
  CEO, Evolve Dynamics.

Members are expected to ask questions on:

• cultural and practical changes required for the Government and industry to work in partnership with smaller companies;
• The MoD target of increasing its spending with SMEs by £2.5 billion by May 2028;
• relationship with larger, prime contractors, and how they help to make the system accessible to SMEs;
• procurement processes and contracts;
• support from Government, devolved and local authorities to SMEs in relations to Defence Growth Deals;
• relationships with the UK Government compared to governments of other countries.
