Companies give evidence on barriers to innovation in genomics, personalised medicineand AI in the NHS

From 10:15 on Tuesday 19 May the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee continues its inquiry into innovation in the NHS, with a particular focus on personalised medicine and the use of artificial intelligence.

This week, the Committee will hear evidence from a range of companies and entrepreneurs who have sought to introduce medical innovations into the NHS across medicines and AI. Collectively, these businesses are working on large-scale genetic data to develop cutting-edge precision healthcare tools, including genomic risk scores; the development of CAR‑T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases; AI-driven analysis of stroke imaging to support clinical decision-making; and the development of personalised cancer vaccines for melanoma.  

The session will explore the challenges these organisations face in developing, commercialising and deploying innovations in genomics, personalised medicine and AI within the NHS.
