Lords Committee to take evidence on the responsible use of UK health data for medical research and development of life sciences

From 10:15 on Tuesday 14 April the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee continues its inquiry into personalised medicine and the use of artificial intelligence.

In this session, the Committee will hear from the CEO of the UK's National Institute for Health Data Science and the author of an independent review into using the UK's health data. The Committee will  ask them what the UK needs to do to ensure that its health data can be used for medical research and life sciences industrial development in a responsible way, including the barriers the UK currently faces, what the Health Data Research Service should be equipped to do to address these, and progress on implementing the Sudlow review.

The Committee will hear from

• Professor Andrew Morris, Director, Health Data Research UK, President, Academy of Medical Science

• Professor Cathie Sudlow, Director of the Usher Institute, University of Edinburgh, author of the Sudlow Review on Health Data
