Conservative response to Road Investment Strategy 3

Richard Holden MP, Shadow Transport Secretary, said:

“Drivers will see straight through this empty announcement that repackages existing schemes and axes many road projects across the country as Labour cuts road investment in real terms.

“Meanwhile, congestion is rising, journey times are worsening, and key projects are stuck in neutral with a Labour Government which sees motorists as a cash cow.

“Roads are the backbone of our economy. Conservatives backed drivers with lower taxes and long-term investment. Labour are offering higher fuel duty as the latest attack in their war on drivers.”
