From 10:15 on Tuesday 24 March the House of Lords Science and
Technology Committee continues its inquiry into innovation in
the NHS, in particular personalised medicine and the use of
artificial intelligence.
This week the Committee will hear from the CEO of Cell and Gene
Therapy Catapult, an independent innovation and technology
organisation focusing on manufacturing and scale-up for advanced
treatments like CAR-T cell and gene therapies that are among the
most personalised medicines that exist. They will also hear from
the outgoing CEO of the Medicines Discovery Catapult, which
focuses on the earlier drug discovery stage, including his views
on the role of AI in drug discovery.
They will also hear from an academic expert in genomic medicine
and will explore themes including the ethical issue in genomic
science and medicine, including the implications of the expansion
of genomic medicine in the NHS.
