Lords Numeracy for Life Committee opens its inquiry by hearing from Hannah Fry and Bobby Seagull

The House of Lords Numeracy for Life Committee opens its inquiry on Thursday 5 March by hearing from Professor Hannah Fry, Professor of the Public Understanding of Mathematics, University of Cambridge and Bobby Seagull, MBE.

The session begins at 10.50am and can be watched live or afterwards on Parliament TV.

Members are expected to ask questions on:

• attitudes to numeracy;
• numeracy skills;
• numeracy for adults;
• numeracy education;
• numeracy skills for the future.
  
  

The Special Inquiry Committee was appointed to consider numeracy in England. The Committee will publish its call for evidence shortly and is expected to report on its findings in Autumn 2026.
