The government has issued letters to 19 regulators asking
them to publish a plan setting out how they will enable
safe AI-powered
innovation and report annually on progress. These regulators
operate in high potential sectors for AI innovation, and have an
important role to play in driving AI adoption, including life
sciences, financial services, and law.
The government will continue to integrate safe AI adoption and innovation
into strategic steers in guidance to regulators.

Some departments tailored the letter in minor ways to reflect the
sector-specific context of individual regulators. This means
there are a few small variations within each of the 19 letters
and we are therefore publishing a template that is not signed.
