Work and Pensions Committee Chair reacts to DWP Permanent Secretary departure

Work and Pensions Committee Chair, Debbie Abrahams has reacted to the news that Department for Work and Pensions Permanent Secretary Sir Peter Schofield will leave his post in the summer.

She said, "I acknowledge and thank Sir Peter for his long service to the DWP including over the extremely difficult pandemic period.

"The Work and Pensions Select Committee will continue to hold the Government to account on social security and pensions policy including its culture and how policy is delivered.

"We are clear that safeguarding has to be put at the heart of DWP policy development and delivery."
