David Taylor MP Calls on Glastonbury Festival to Drop Controversial Group Kneecap

David Taylor MP, Member of Parliament for Hemel Hempstead, has today written to Sir Michael Eavis, the founder of Glastonbury Festival, urging him to remove the group Kneecap from the festival's 2025 line-up.

In his letter, Mr Taylor raises serious concerns about allegations that members of Kneecap have called for the murder of Conservative MPs and appear in footage supporting terrorist organisations such as Hamas and Hezbollah. He warns that if these reports are accurate, Kneecap's actions amount to inciting violence, promoting extremism, and engaging in severe antisemitism.

Mr Taylor stated:

"By hosting such a group, Glastonbury Festival risks undermining its proud tradition of promoting peace, unity, and social responsibility. It would be deeply troubling to see the Festival provide a platform to individuals who advocate hatred and violence, particularly at a time when political and social tensions are already high."

He calls on Glastonbury Festival organisers to take swift action to remove Kneecap from the programme, stating that doing so would "send a clear and unequivocal message that Glastonbury stands firmly against violence, terrorism, antisemitism, and political extremism in all its forms."
