Experts on NEETs give evidence to Lords social mobility inquiry

The House of Lords Social Mobility Policy Committee continues its inquiry on Thursday 24 April by hearing from experts who work with young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs).

The session begins at 10.05am in in Committee Room 3, Palace of Westminster and can be followed live or afterwards and can be watched live or afterwards on Parliament TV.

Giving evidence will be:

• Graham Cowley,
  NEET Strategic Partnership, Blackpool;
• Professor Lisa Russell,
  Professor in Education and Employment, Manchester Metropolitan University;
• Barry Fletcher,
  Chief Executive Officer, Youth Futures Foundation;
• Dr Gianfranco Addario,
  Research Director, National Centre for Social Research.

Members are expected to ask questions on:

• NEET data and trends;
• risk factors for young people becoming NEET;
• the role of the education system;
• the role of employers;
• the role of Government;
