Nominations close for Committee Chairs

The period of nominations for chairs of select committees, which
ran from 30 July to 9 September, has closed. As set out by the
Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, before the summer recess, elections
will take place on 11 September from 10am-4pm. A full list of
committees and candidates follows below. Where a single candidate
was nominated for the role, the Speaker has declared them elected,

As set out by the Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, before the summer recess, elections will take place on 11 September from 10am-4pm. A full list of committees and candidates follows below. Where a single candidate was nominated for the role, the Speaker has declared them elected, unopposed. Since 2010, most committee chairs have been elected by the whole House, by secret ballot using the alternative vote system. A briefing note on the process is attached for your information.
