NFER blog - “Just a little drop?” - Pupil numbers are falling slower than previous expectations

The first of three new NFER blogs has been published today looking at pupil projections in England. The blog highlights the implications of falling pupil numbers and discusses the latest pupil projections in this context. It also highlights how factors driving recent changes in projections will continue to cause uncertainty. The next blog in this series will investigate impacts experienced in areas that have already seen significant declines in primary pupil numbers. The final blog will look at how local authorities are anticipating and planning for expected declines.
