Bus services: new DfT guidance on franchising ‘another string to mayors’ bows’ - Transport Committee Chair

Transport Committee Chair Iain Stewart MP said: 

“I warmly welcome the new government guidance, first promised in 2021, on bus franchising that we called for in our National Bus Strategy report. Bus services in many parts of England are on the mend after a period of decline and falling demand. Now regional mayors have another string to their bows and can replicate the operating models used in Manchester and London.”
