Following the debate on
stage 3 of the Infrastructure (Wales) Bill, , Shadow Climate
Change Minister, said:
“Tonight, Labour and Plaid ignored our amendments that would have
eased Labour’s war on hard working motorists.
“Labour have continued to ramp up their war on motorists, with
road charging introduced via stealth in the previous bill and now
toll charging in this current bill.
“The Welsh Conservatives will always work to support the people
who keep our country moving in getting from A to B.”
Janet added:
“I am pleased we managed to get through three important
amendments to the bill, to help get Wales moving.”

- Our Amendment to remove the authorisation of toll charging in
relation to a highway was rejected.
- The Welsh Conservatives had three successful amendments
agreed:
- An amendment that requires that where Welsh Ministers publish
a new infrastructure policy statement under section 125, Senedd
members must be notified.
- An amendment that places a requirement on Welsh Ministers to
publish a statement of reasons, where a specified deadline for
submitting representations on an application for infrastructure
consent is extended.
- The amendment that places a requirement for Welsh Ministers
to publish a statement of reasons, where a direction is made to
re-open the examination of an application following the
submission of the examining authority’s report.
