Understanding the vaping market

HMRC commissioned Ipsos to undertake research into the UK vaping market. The aims of the research were to:

• understand how the vaping market has changed in recent years, and how it is expected to change in the future
• explore the relationships and processes between participants in the vaping product supply chain
• identify the current and anticipated purchasing behaviours of current vapers, and how these vary by key groups of interest

Th research consisted of 40 interviews by telephone and an online survey of 2,518 current or lapsed vapers. Telephone interviews were conducted between 24 May and 20 June 2023 and the survey ran between 13 July and 19 July 2023.
