Labour must listen to teaching unions and scrap school holiday reform, say Welsh Conservatives

Responding to the news that all teaching unions in Wales have rejected the Labour Education Minister’s school holiday reform, Laura Anne Jones MS, Shadow Education Minister said:

“I have said from the beginning that school holiday reform is a mistake. Nobody has asked for it and nobody wants it.

“The Labour Minister needed to tackle the soaring absenteeism, attainment gaps and the violence in our schools. Yet typical of Labour he chose to pursue a costly vanity project.

“The Welsh Conservatives would scrap the school holiday reform, appropriately fund education and save Labour’s lost generation.
