The Prime Minister spoke to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy this
afternoon.
A Downing Street spokesperson said:
“The Prime Minister spoke to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy this
afternoon.
“President Zelenskyy thanked the Prime Minister for the UK’s
donation of Storm Shadow long-range precision missiles. The Prime
Minister said he was pleased to deliver on the commitment he made
in February to provide Ukraine with the long-range capabilities
they need to defend themselves.
“The leaders discussed the importance of the international
community sustaining the level of support it has provided so far
to Ukraine, particularly as the country prepares to intensify its
military operations.
“The Prime Minister restated the UK’s commitment to ensuring
Ukraine prevails and secures a just and lasting peace.
“The Prime Minister asked President Zelenskyy to pass on his
thanks to the Ukrainian First Lady for attending last week’s
Coronation celebrations in London.
“President Zelenskyy thanked the Prime Minister for Liverpool’s
role in hosting tomorrow’s Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of
Ukraine. The Prime Minister said he was proud the UK could do
this for the Ukrainian people and looked forward to the day that
the contest could be held on Ukrainian soil once again.”
