Wes Streeting responds to the Government finally agreeing to negotiate with health unions

Wes Streeting MP, Labour's Shadow Health & Social Care Secretary, responding to the Government finally agreeing to negotiate with health unions, said:

“If the Government had listened to Labour and sat down to talk with nurses and paramedics three months ago - as we would have done - all of this chaos and disruption to patient care could have been avoided.

“The Conservatives’ strategy of hoping that the public would turn against the NHS staff who got us through the pandemic has ended in predictable failure. The only question is why it took them so long to admit defeat?”
