Angela Rayner MP, Labour's Deputy Leader and Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, commenting on a report that Nadhim Zahawi failed to tell officials that he had exchanged messages with David Cameron when the former PM was contacting ministers about Greensill Capital loans, said:

"Yet another of Nadhim Zahawi's stories is unravelling as he becomes the latest Tory Minister to claim their WhatsApp messages mysteriously disappeared just when difficult questions were asked.

"We also need full transparency about Rishi Sunak and Richard Sharp's involvement in this lobbying scandal.

"The Conservative Party is engulfed in cronyism and corruption."
