Fleur Anderson responds to the government publishing the National Resilience Strategy

Fleur Anderson MP, Labour’s Shadow Paymaster General, responding to the government publishing the National Resilience Strategy today, said:

“It’s taken a conveyer belt of Conservative Ministers more than a year of sleepwalking to finally wake up and copy Labour’s homework. 

"For more than a decade this Government has left us woefully unprepared for black-swan emergencies, and then far too slow to learn lessons from COVID. 

"While the Tories have hollowed out our country’s resilience infrastructure, the next Labour Government’s plan for more a resilient Britain, overseen by a dedicated minister for resilience, will ensure our country is well-prepared and well-drilled ahead of time.”
