, Labour’s Shadow
Business Secretary, responding to launching a review into Late
Payments, said:
“This is another example of a Tory party too weak to take action.
Earlier this week, Labour announced plans to legislate on Late
Payments, committing to real tangible change with a clear plan.
“The Conservative Party’s pick and mix leadership has launched no
less than SEVEN previous reviews into Late Payment practices over
the past 10 years – and what have they announced today? Yet
another review. Once again, the Tories have decided to kick the
interests of British businesses into the long grass.
“Labour will ensure small businesses receive the money they are
owed on time to invest and grow. Only a Labour Government has a
plan to protect businesses and tackle the key challenges they
face, ensure economic stability and grow the economy.”
