Bridget Phillipson MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, responding to reports that the Government are set to publish reforms of the education system, said:

“After 12 years of failing our children, this Conservative Government has no new ideas about how to raise standards of education across our country.

“The Conservatives have failed our schools and left our children’s education far worse off.

“Rishi Sunak should adopt Labour’s plans to end tax breaks for private schools and invest in our brilliant state schools, and abolish non-dom tax status to give breakfast clubs to every primary school child in England.”
