Government’s Jet Zero Strategy won’t address aviation emissions, says Campaign for Better Transport

Responding to the launch of the Government’s Jet Zero Strategy published today (19 July), Norman Baker from Campaign for Better Transport said:

“Aviation poses a climate problem now that will not be addressed by so-called cleaner fuels in the future. The pandemic proved that the only current way to reduce emissions from aviation is to fly less, so the Government must implement measures to immediately reduce passenger demand. For a start, we want to see fewer domestic flights where an equivalent rail journey exists, and more businesses commit to flying less.”
