Commenting SNP MSP said:
"I am honoured to be able to lead this important debate of behalf
of my colleague, Graeme Dey, marking the 40th anniversary of the
Falklands war where we can reflect on the impact and legacy of
the Falklands conflict.
"The sacrifices of so many brave men and women were immense, and
should never be forgotten - this is a significant part of our
history, the legacy of which is very much a part of our lives
today.
"This war sadly claimed the lives of hundreds of servicemen and
an anniversary like this gives us the opportunity to remember and
pay tribute to them and their families.
"It's also important for us to recognise the many veterans living
across Scotland and the challenges they face - be that physical
or mental. We have a duty to support our hard serving veterans
and this is a chance to reflect on how we are doing
that."
