Louise Haigh comments on record petrol prices

Louise Haigh MP, Labour’s Shadow Transport Secretary, commenting on the record price per litre of petrol, said:

“This is a savage extra cost for millions of working people. To add insult to injury, the Conservatives want to clobber the British public with a huge tax hike within weeks.

“Why are the Conservatives choosing a buy now, pay later loan scheme instead of backing Labour’s plan to reduce household bills, with a one-off windfall tax on oil and gas producers who are making a fortune in profits?”
