Louise Haigh comments on the DfT's Covid recovery funding extension

Louise Haigh MP, Labour’s Shadow Transport Secretary, commenting on the Covid recovery funding extension, said:

“Labour has been demanding Ministers act for months, and across the country some services have already been lost.

“It’s now time Ministers come clean on the wider cuts to bus funding buried in their levelling-up plan, which will see many communities miss out altogether.

“The Tories pledged ‘transformational’ bus investment, but passengers are seeing managed decline.

“Labour leaders in towns and cities across the country have plans to transform our public transport – they need a government who matches their ambition.”
