Transcript of committee hearing on diversity in STEM

Greg Clark (Chair): Today the Science and Technology Committee begins a new inquiry into diversity in STEM; that is to say, science, technology, engineering and maths. We will look at what the current situation is in terms of the diversity of the workforce and participants in the various disciplines that comprise the Committee’s remit, and the causes of and solutions to some of the underrepresentation of groups that we will discuss today and in the course of the inquiry.
