Minister welcomes passing of the Down Syndrome Bill

Following the successful passing of the Down Syndrome Bill through committee stage today Minister for Care and Mental Health Gillian Keegan said:

“Today marked another important milestone in improving the lives of people with Down’s syndrome, which is an absolute priority for me.

“As both a minister and proud aunt to my much loved nephew who has Down’s syndrome, I fully support Dr Liam Fox’s Bill and am pleased it is making such rapid progress including today’s successful committee session.

“This Bill will help improve access to health, education, social care and housing for people with Down’s syndrome across England.”
