Pat McFadden response to new public finance statistics

Pat McFadden, Labour's Chief Secretary to the Treasury, responding to new public finance stats, said:

"Restoring the public finances is a vital task - but we can’t trust the Conservatives to treat taxpayers' money with respect.

"Rishi Sunak's own minister has just resigned because he can’t defend the levels of fraud, waste and mismanagement of funds we’ve seen from this Government.

"Labour would treat every pound of taxpayer money with the respect it deserves - taxing fairly, spending wisely, and getting our economy firing on all cylinders."
