Committee publishes letters on energy network resilience

The Business, Energy Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Committee publishes letters exchanged with Ofgem, the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) and the Energy Networks Association (ENA) following questions concerning energy network resilience caused by Storm Arwen.

Following a recent BEIS Committee evidence session for its inquiry on the Government’s draft Energy National Policy Statements, Chair Darren Jones MP wrote to the three organisations asking for information about the resilience of the UK’s power networks with questions relating to stress testing and investment.

Next week, the BEIS Committee holds an evidence session as part of its inquiry into the Government’s draft Energy National Policy Statements.

At 10.30am on Tuesday, 18 January, the Committee will question BEIS Department Energy Minister Greg Hands MP, Housing Minister Christopher Pincher from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, and senior officials from the National Infrastructure Planning Association
