Jim McMahon responds to Londoners being advised to reduce physical activity on Fridays due to air pollution

Jim McMahon MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, responding to reports that Londoners are being advised to reduce physical activity on Fridays due to air pollution, said:

"Everyone should have the right to breathe clean air and the Mayor of London is taking bold steps to tackle air pollution in the capital.

"But the Conservative Government has repeatedly refused to take the action for the whole country - voting against tougher limits on pollution, which is an invisible killer.

"Labour’s contract with the British people will ensure respect for the environment – with a Clean Air Act to create a legal right to breathe safe air."
