Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee to publish Report on Racism in cricket

The DCMS Committee Report on Racism in cricket will be published at 00.01 on Friday 14^th January 2022. 

In the wake of upheld allegations of bullying and racial harassment levelled against Yorkshire County Cricket Club by Azeem Rafiq, the Committee examined the governance of the club and its decision not to take any actions against individuals. This hearing, part of an inquiry into Sport governance, took evidence from Azeem Rafiq, the former and current Chairs of Yorkshire County Cricket Club, and the England and Wales Cricket Board’s Chief Executive. In a powerful testimony, Azeem Rafiq recounted his experience of racism and bullying at the club and how it has affected his career and mental health.
