Matthew Pennycook comments on NAO report into regulation of private renting

Matthew Pennycook MP, Labour’s Shadow Housing and Planning Minister, commenting on the National Audit Office’s new report on the regulation of private renting, said:

“This comprehensive report methodically sets out how the private rented sector is failing those who most need protection.

“Each and every one of our country’s 11 million renters deserve a secure, affordable, and decent home to live in.

“Instead of dragging its feet, the Government needs to prioritise the development of a strategy for protecting tenants’ rights and accelerate work on its promised Renters' Reform Bill”.
