50 Conservative MPs rake in over £1.7m in consultancy fees this year alone

Labour analysis of the Register of Members Financial Interests has revealed that since the start of 2021, Tory MPs have taken over £1.7m (£1,712,357.00) in consultancy fees. In the last year, 50 Conservative backbenchers and former Cabinet Ministers have been paid by consultancy or management firms. In the last year, 50 Conservative backbenchers and former Cabinet Ministers have been paid by consultancy or management firms.

“Every day Conservative MPs act as if there’s one rule for them and another for everyone else.

“The Prime Minister needs to show leadership, heed Labour's call to ban MPs from having paid directorships and consultancy roles and put an end to Tory sleaze.”
