Ed Miliband's comments on the Government’s Climate Finance Delivery Plan

Ed Miliband MP, Labour’s Shadow Business Secretary, commenting on the Government’s Climate Finance Delivery Plan, said: 

"Glasgow needs to be the summit of climate delivery not climate delay. 

"Any steps forward toward the long-promised $100 billion are welcome but rather than delivering today, this plan appears to offer more promises for tomorrow without the concrete commitments to back them up. 

"This promise is a critical test of trust between developed and developing countries. 

"Despite Alok Sharma's best efforts, he has been undermined by the rest of the Government. Cutting our aid budget has sent precisely the wrong signal to others and made it much harder for us to deliver on this vital commitment."
