Peter Kyle responds National Tutoring Programme contract dispute

Peter Kyle MP, Labour’s Shadow Schools Minister, responding to reports that leading tutoring providers expected to deliver catch-up tuition to around 50,000 pupils are missing from the National Tutoring Programme over a contract dispute, said:

“The Conservatives are floundering on education. Minister rejected their expert catch-up advisor’s plan and now their tutoring provider is failing to get tutors in front of children.

“Labour warned against giving the national tutoring programme contract to a multinational human resources provider with little education experience.

“Labour's Children Recovery Plan would invest in children's futures, providing small group tutoring and learning support to all who need it, coupled with breakfast clubs and after school activities helping every child to bounce back and push on. The Conservatives need to step up and match this ambition for children’s futures.”
