inspectorate of constabulary and fire and rescue services and the
Metropolitan police have all stated that they did not request these
noise clauses to be added to the Bill. Today, there is a piece in
The Times where senior former police officers have written warning
that this Bill is “dangerous” and has
“harmful implications for the ability of police officers to
enforce the law and for the health of our democracy.”
