Ed Miliband responds to calls from the Federation of Small Businesses for more Covid support

“Businesses have done right by our country during this crisis and the Government must do right by them. Ministers have yet again failed to grasp the simple principle that public health restrictions must be matched by fair economic measures.

“It’s plain wrong that businesses unable to reopen are being sent huge bills. The Government must delay the employer contribution to furlough and support struggling sectors with the burden of business rates, or risk piling even more pressure onto businesses and damaging our recovery."
