Calderdale Council criticised during PMQs

During Prime Minister's Question Time in the House of Commons today, Craig Whittaker MP (Calder Valley, Conservative) said the levelling-up process was a superb opportunity for local areas such as Calderdale Council to improve infrastructure and relieve the misery in local areas.

He asked the PM to take a serious look at Calderdale's submission, "which lacks support, has no consultation or consensus with partners and instead of relieving infrastructure problems, ploughs on with one of the council's failed and doomed projects which does nothing at all to level up and has no support locally."

Boris Johnson replied that the levelling-up fund had the potential to do massive good for Calderdale and the whole country. He hoped Calderdale Council would listen to Mr Whittaker and act.
