the use of recycled plastic instead of new plastic in packaging.
For plastic packaging that contains less than 30% recycled plastic
content, the rate of the tax will be £200 per tonne. This will
transform the economics of sustainable packaging. To help tackle
climate change and improve the UK’s air quality, the Bill reforms
the entitlement to use red diesel from April next year. This will
help ensure that the tax system incentivises users of polluting
fuels such as diesel to invest in cleaner vehicles and machinery,
